See UAB’s very own Dina Kasman in concert with the ASO!

Attend a night of sonorous music with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. This Friday, October 2nd and Saturday, October 3rd the ASO continues their Masterworks Series. Under leadership of Christopher Confessore, the program moves from Rossini’s brilliant comic overture (La gazza ladra) to one of the most beloved piano concertos ever written. Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 opens with one of classical music’s most recognizable melodies and builds to a sweeping orchestral climax — with Dina Kasman, guest artist and UAB Department of Music alumna, at the center. Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony, full of folk-inflected melodies and irresistible energy, closes the evening in high spirits.

Performances will take place at 7:00 PM in the Alys Stephens Center Jemison Concert Hall. General admission starts at $36 – student discounted tickets available for $15.
