Chemistry Bridge gives rising high school students a chance to experience university-level chemistry through exciting, hands-on lab demonstrations, including colorful and high-energy reactions!

Colored Flames: Cotton balls are soaked in solutions of different salts, burning different colors depending on the metal cation in the salt.

Alcohol Cannon: Isopropyl alcohol is combusted, causing a reaction that launches a ball from a PVC cannon.

Flaming Gummy Bear: The sucrose in a gummy bear becomes the fuel for a dramatic combustion reaction that releases an impressive amount of energy.

Universal Indicator & Dry Ice: Adding dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) to a universal indicator mixed with water or a solution of sodium hydroxide will change the acidity, causing it to change color over time.
