NTFC Local 6546 The Non-Tenure Faculty Coalition, #6546 (AFT/IFT, AAUP) represents specialized faculty at UIUC. Our unit is made up of teaching, research, and clinical faculty.

The Non-Tenure Faculty Coalition (NTFC), Local #6546 (AFT/IFT, AAUP) is a IELRB-certified union, representing about 500 non-tenure-track faculty at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. NTFC is a legally distinct organization from the historic Campus Faculty Association (https://www.facebook.com/CampusFacultyAssociation), with its own constitution, elected officers, and finances. The two organizations co-operate closely due to their common interests and history.

Solidarity Guard Continues This Week

We show up for each other. ✊

Following last Thursday’s assault on our member Jordan Sellers, NTFC’s Solidarity Guard will continue throughout the week to support Jordan and demonstrate our collective commitment to safety, care, and solidarity.

🔶 Each day except Wednesday 🔷
8:30am: Meet at the Mathews Avenue side entrance of Siebel Center for Computer Science, then walk together to the English Building.
2:00pm: Meet at the Quad-side entrance of the English Building, then walk together back to Siebel.

Bring your union solidarity, and wear your NTFC swag if you have it!

The University should have acted before one of our members was injured. We cannot undo what happened, but we can make sure Jordan—and every member of our community—knows that we take care of each other.

We're excited to welcome Maxwell Haynes as our new Union Organizer/Operations Coordinator.

In this vital role, Maxwell will help strengthen our union by supporting member outreach and communication, assisting with contract negotiations and enforcement, coordinating organizing efforts, developing relationships with fellow unions and pro-labor organizations, and providing operational support that helps keep our work moving forward.

We're thrilled to add Maxwell's experience, skills, and commitment to our team.

📣 Join us on Thursday, July 16 as the NTFC 6546 participates in an organizing drive alongside GEO 6300 and the Campus Faculty Association (CFA)!

Together, we're building a stronger, more united voice for workers across our campus:

🔹 GEO represents Teaching Assistants (TAs), Graduate Assistants (GAs), Pre-Professional Graduate Assistants (PGAs), and Research Assistants (RAs).
🔹 NTFC 6546 represents Specialized Faculty.
🔹 Campus Faculty Association is leading the campaign to unionize Tenure-Stream Faculty.

While we represent different groups of employees, we're united by a shared commitment to improving working conditions and higher education. All three organizations are supported by our parent unions—the Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT)—which provide administrative, financial, and legal support as we organize together.

Solidarity makes us stronger. We hope to see you on July 16! ✊
