💜 Graduate Nursing Student Spotlight: Kendall Deas! 🐅

Meet Kendall, a Master of Science in Nursing student in Clemson’s Family Nurse Practitioner program, graduating in December 2026! 🎓

From beginning her Clemson journey as an undergraduate in 2015 to pursuing advanced nursing education, Kendall says Clemson feels like home. She credits the supportive faculty and community for helping her grow both personally and professionally.

Fun fact: Kendall has spent the past seven years as a travel nurse, working in five different children’s hospitals! 🩺

Meet Madison Harkins, a proud recipient of the Hearst Foundation Scholarship! 🎓 Originally from Charleston, SC, Madison is pursuing her passion for nursing with the goal of becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Madison enjoys helping others and hopes to make a meaningful difference through her nursing career. She shares that receiving this scholarship has made a tremendous positive impact, helping her pursue her degree and her dream of making a difference in the lives of others.

💜🐅 Graduate Nursing Alumni Spotlight: Dionta Posey!

Meet Dionta Posey, a Clemson Nursing alumnus who earned his Post-Baccalaureate Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Family Nurse Practice (Primary Care)!

Today, Dionta serves patients at Park DuValle Community Health Center in Louisville, Kentucky, in the Adult Medicine Department and as Clinical Lead for the HIV Treatment Program. His Clemson experience helped strengthen his clinical skills, build his confidence as a provider, and prepare him to make a meaningful impact in patient care.

One of his favorite Clemson memories? Attending the AACN Student Policy Summit in Washington, D.C., where he discovered a passion for health policy and advocacy.

🧼🦠 Teaching little hands to stay healthy! 💜

Clemson Senior nursing students recently visited Liberty Primary School to teach kindergarteners about the importance of proper hand hygiene as the colder months approach and cold and flu season begins. Through an interactive demonstration using a blue light to reveal germs, students learned how germs can spread and why washing their hands is so important!

Our nursing students also shared educational infographics to reinforce healthy hand washing habits and encourage students to put what they learned into practice. We’re proud of our future nurses for promoting health, preventing the spread of illness, and making a positive impact in our community!

🦷🎃 Spreading smiles and healthy habits in the community! 🧡

Clemson Senior nursing students recently visited Active Day in Liberty as part of their service-learning project to share the importance of proper dental hygiene and its impact on overall health. From an engaging presentation to a fun review game, members learned helpful tips for keeping their smiles healthy!

Our students also shared take-home reminders to encourage good oral hygiene long after the visit. We’re proud of our future nurses for making a difference through education, service, and community connection!

Here’s to healthy smiles all year long — and especially this Halloween! 🎃🪥🐅

🩺💜 Healthy habits start young! 🐅

Our Senior 2 nursing students recently visited McKissick Academy of Science and Technology (MAST) in Easley, SC, to teach third-grade students about personal hygiene, nutrition, and mental well-being! 🌱

Through interactive learning, educational pamphlets, and goody bags filled with healthy-habit essentials, our future nurses helped students discover ways to care for their minds and bodies. The visit wrapped up with a fun, interactive review game on Chromebooks to put their new knowledge to the test! 🎮✨

A huge thank-you to MAST, its wonderful third-grade teachers, and students for partnering with us to make this meaningful learning experience possible! 💜

🐅💜 Graduate Student Spotlight: Shea Murray! 🩺✨

Meet Shea Murray, a student in Clemson University’s Master of Science in Nursing program with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)!

Shea chose Clemson to challenge herself, grow professionally, and build the skills needed to advance her nursing career. Through her graduate education, she has gained a deeper understanding of whole-person care and how factors like access to healthcare, mental health, and individual circumstances impact patient outcomes.

Her advice for future graduate nursing students? “Despite the obstacles, never give up on your dreams.” ✨

And a fun fact? Shea jokes that she may be a professional student at this point! Between collecting degrees, traveling, making memories, and enjoying a little retail therapy, she’s making the most of every chapter. ✈️🛍️
