Happy Monday! 💙🐻💛 We’re starting our Preceptor Spotlight Mondays by highlighting the clinical sites and preceptors who work with our students. This week, we’re featuring Ben Davis High School and Franklin College alumni Katie Schopf (FC ’14) and Kelsie Williams (FC ’17)! Camiell (Class of 2027) had this to say about her preceptors, "Kelsie and Katie have been excellent preceptors. Their efforts to mentoring me and helping me expand my knowledge and hands-on clinical skills have helped me significantly grow and build confidence as a future athletic trainer. They are greatly appreciated." Thank you, Katie and Kelsie, for all you do to support and mentor our students!

Our 1st year students spent time in Therapeutic Modalities practicing ultrasound techniques and getting comfortable with the equipment they’ll use in their clinical practice!

Congratulations to our very own Kathy Remsburg on receiving the Hann Family Award for Excellence in Teaching! 💙🐻💛

Last week, Kathy was recognized during the Board of Trustee Faculty Recognition Luncheon for her many contributions to Franklin College and its students. The award recognizes faculty who challenge students, inspire critical thinking, and demonstrate a passion for teaching and student success. Kathy has played a huge role in shaping the athletic training program and has made a lasting impact on so many students and faculty members. From mentoring future athletic trainers to supporting and guiding faculty throughout the AT program and across the college, her influence goes far beyond the classroom. We’re so grateful for all Kathy has done for Franklin College, our MSAT program, and the athletic training profession. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Kathy!

This week in Clinical Pathologies and Medical Interventions, our 2nd year students learned about the pulmonary system, including assessment techniques and interventions used to evaluate and manage respiratory conditions. During lab, they practiced pulmonary auscultation, pulmonary percussion, and nebulizer treatments! 🫁💙🐻💛

This week our first year students got hands-on experience learning about foot and ankle evaluations and orthotics with guest speaker Ryan McDivitt! 🦶

Students put their skills into practice during a hands-on lab, working through evaluation techniques, learning how orthotics can be used as part of patient care, and even practicing how to take molds for orthotics. Thank you to Ryan for sharing his expertise and giving our students the opportunity to put these skills into practice!

Tonight, MSAT Class of 2024 alum Nolan Remsburg received a “Make a Difference” Award for all of his amazing work at Indian Creek High School! Earlier this year, Nolan also received our 2026 Preceptor of the Year Award, and we’re so excited to see him recognized again for the impact he has on those around him. His athletes describe him as funny, easy to be around, and someone who always takes the time to listen and help. His coaches appreciate his communication, knowledge, and how much he cares for every athlete, while his AD said he was invaluable. We couldn’t agree more! Congrats, Nolan! We’re so proud of you! 💙🐻💛

Our first year students have been working on spine boarding this week, and today they got to take those skills onto the ice! 🏒

Students participated in the Indy Fuel On Ice Emergency Training Day, where they practiced emergency situations that are unique to hockey and the on-ice environment. It was a great opportunity to take what they’ve been learning in the classroom and apply it in a hands-on setting !Thank you to the Indy Fuel and Community Health Network for putting on such a great event and giving our students this opportunity! 💙🐻💛
