⭐️ Alumni Spotlight ⭐️

Please say hello to Ben Strong! Ben is a bass-baritone from Indiana, PA. He earned a BFA from IUP in 2020. He is currently a member of the Lindemann Young Artists at The Metropolitan Opera. Over the summer, he performed as Dieu le Fils in “Mariken de Nimègue” at the Fisher Center, Allazim in “Zaide” at The Lincoln Center, and as Harašta in “The Cunning Little Vixen” at the Des Moines Metro Opera.

From November 24 to December 13 of this year, Ben will be performing in “Andrea Chénier” at the Metropolitan Opera and in “Messiah” with The New Choral Society of NY. He made his Met debut yesterday!

A fun fact about Ben is that while at IUP, he took enough woodworking classes and ceramics classes to have the option to get an art minor.

Please give Ben Strong our warmest wishes! Thank you for letting us highlight your achievements!

⭐️ Alumni Spotlight ⭐️

Please say hello to Sabrina Long! Sabrina is a mezzo-soprano from New Enterprise, PA. She earned a BFA in 2022 and an MA in 2024 from IUP. She currently works as a core member of the Mendelssohn Choir in Pittsburgh. Sabrina has many upcoming performances; CrosSING Bridges at Carnegie Hall on 10/26 at 4 pm, Handel’s Messiah at Heinz Hall on 12/9 at 7:30 pm, Holiday Pops at Heinz Hall throughout the month of December, and Mahler Symphony No. 2 at Heinz Hall on 3/13-15/2026. Sabrina would like to tell our followers this: “I was born without a left ear, and had reconstruction surgery done when I was a child to give me one. I have about 40% hearing now. Being deaf and a musician is difficult, but not impossible. Anything is possible if you work hard and adapt!”

Please give Sabrina our warmest wishes! Thank you for letting us highlight your achievements!
