The IUP Voice Department is a way to reach musicians, fans, students, and alumni of IUP

10/21/2026

Presented by PCMEA and other IUP music chapters, Cogswell Hall will be turned into a trick-or-treating haunted house this Sunday! The upstairs will be a calmer, less spooky area for younger kids who want some candy and fun! The ground floor will be a haunted house with scare actors. SNATS will be performing music on and off during the event for a fun concert before heading home. We are also providing other activities like a pumpkin painting fundraiser from SNATS! Please attend and support our musicians here at IUP!

Today, 6 our voice students had the incredible opportunity to work in a Master Class with Dr. Gillian Riesen and Mr. John Riesen, who performed a joint guest recital last night. Students from each studio and of each voice type got to work with them on technique as well as character. We absolutely loved having them here and we wish them well in their next adventures!

In just under two months, Amanda Iandiorio will be presenting her Master's recital in Gorell Hall! Please attend the performance; Amanda is working incredibly hard to make sure that this is the best it possibly can be!

Put your hands together for Dr. Joseph Baunoch, who has been a professor at IUP for 17 years!

He has more education than what could be listed in this graphic, so he has requested this addition: "Along with my MM, I also completed masters studies at the Manhattan School of Music. I also apprenticed at Dicapo Opera Theater in NYC, and my time doing Educational Outreach Opera performances and Lectures for the Metropolitan Opera was key to my development as a teacher. It really added to my passion for showing others how great opera is and that they could do it too."

With this post, we have introduced our 3 main faculty members for the voice department! Next, we will be re-introducing two of our graduate assistants! Stay tuned for those posts!
