Today we’re celebrating 64 years of WICR bringing music, news, and community to Indianapolis and beyond! From our very first broadcast to the voices you hear today, we’re proud to keep the tradition alive. 🩶❤️

Here’s to 64 years on the air, and many more to come!

You might think Antonio Vivaldi established a legacy that lasted for hundreds of years, but you’d be wrong! Vivaldi’s music wasn’t rediscovered until 1926 and didn’t become popular with modern audiences until the 1950’s!
Kate only had 90 seconds to tell this story, so if you want to know the full details, check out

or

Many thanks to Venice Music Project's Liesl Odenweller, who inspired us to learn more about rediscovering Vivaldi when Kate interviewed her about "Venetian Mysteries: The Lost Music." Liesl and her team are still discovering lost works of Vivaldi and other great Baroque composers!

Hear newly unearthed music and learn more about the work of music detectives by watching the documentary on the free Kanopy platform.

P.S. We know we said last week that we were finishing up our Baroque trilogy, but we'd only done two reels because apparently Kate can't count to three (lol). Join us for a whole new topic next week!

When we introduce music on Anytime Classical, we often refer to a piece’s Opus number, but not every piece has one! What’s an Opus number, what’s it for, and why do we bring it up? Kate will explain in this video. Do you have a question for Kate? Send us a DM and we will try to have her answer it for you!
