IU Indianapolis welcomed Scouts and their families to campus for a Scouting America merit badge event filled with hands-on learning, exploration, and discovery! 🔬

From an interactive virtual reality (VR) experience and a presentation on VR and empathy led by Professor Ekaterina Muravevskaia of the IU Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, Indianapolis to merit badge classes in chemistry, engineering, dentistry, and digital technology, Scouts had opportunities to explore new interests and discover how their passions can connect to future career pathways.

The event kicked off with an opening flag ceremony and welcome, with appearances from Jawz and Jazzy adding to the excitement. Scouts and their families also enjoyed lunch together and explored campus through self-guided tours.

We’re proud to support experiences that connect young learners with higher education, hands-on discovery, and opportunities to imagine what’s possible for their futures. Thank you to Scouting America, the P-12 team in IU Indianapolis Admissions, and everyone who helped make this event a success!

Bringing dental care closer to rural Indiana families. 🦷🤝

The Indiana University School of Dentistry is expanding access to oral healthcare in underserved communities across the state. Thanks to a $2 million grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration, the school will launch a five-year initiative that places dental hygienists and students in rural health centers and community settings, helping connect children and families with preventive care while providing valuable hands-on experience for future providers.
