Faculty know students by name in our close-knit department. Faculty have expertise in all nursing clinical areas, and are always ready to assist students to achieve their highest potential.

A BIG congratulations to the women’s cross country team for placing first overall at the 2026 PAC Championships 🏆

Five runners earned PAC Coaches’ Honors, including four nursing students 🤩

Junior Nina Connors led the way as the top finisher, completing the race in an impressive 22:00.0! 34 seconds ahead of the 2nd place runner!!

Other top finishers included seniors Jordan Dean, Sarah Colman, and Isabella Leger. First-year student Morgan Davis and junior Mackenzie Hirt also competed.

We are so proud of these student-athletes and all they have accomplished!

Way to go, ladies ❤️🖤

On Halloween, our nursing students traded the classroom for the concession stand at the home football game, volunteering their time to raise funds for the upcoming Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) convention taking place this month at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center 🙌

Their goal is to raise enough money to attend both the state and national conferences, providing opportunities to learn, grow, network, and represent SFU Nursing ❤️

We love seeing our students take initiative and work together to make these opportunities possible!

It was another day well spent in the Experiential Learning Commons 🙌

Our junior nursing students wrapped up their IV insertion and blood administration skills with a simulation experience that put them in the driver’s seat! Students took the reins, applied their knowledge, and put their clinical judgment and skills into action.

Great work, juniors! Another step toward becoming confident, compassionate nurses 🩺

On Friday, October 23rd, more than 100 students and faculty members from Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, and Public Health came together to participate in Missouri’s Community Action Poverty Simulation.

This immersive, interactive experience challenges participants to step into the lives of individuals and families experiencing poverty, offering a firsthand perspective on the systemic barriers, difficult decisions, and daily stressors that impact their lives.

Through this powerful experiential learning opportunity, students gained valuable insight into the social determinants of health, the importance of empathy, and the role of interprofessional collaboration in addressing complex community needs.

👏 Great job to everyone who participated in this meaningful learning experience!

Our senior nursing students continue to make a difference through their Service Learning Projects ❤️

Katelynn, Peyton, Mikaylah, and Garrett recently visited the Northern Cambria Senior Activity Center to educate participants on the signs and symptoms of a stroke. They combined important health education with fun, interactive activities like Bingo to make learning engaging and enjoyable 🧠🎉

🌎✨ Celebrating cultures, embracing diversity, and making global connections!

Some of our SFU Nursing students recently participated in Windows to the World, hosted by the SFU Office of International Education on October 20

This vibrant cultural festival celebrated the rich diversity of our world through traditions, food, music, faith, and meaningful connections across cultures 🗺️

Experiences like these help our future nurses broaden their perspectives, embrace cultural differences, and strengthen their commitment to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care to every patient.

As part of their Community Health course, our senior nursing students are putting their knowledge into action through meaningful Service-Learning Projects!

Hailey, Janiyah, Maria, and Kyrsten recently visited a local elementary school to teach students about the importance of dental hygiene. Their engaging presentation reached MORE THAN 140 students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade 👏🪥🦷
