The Ball State Athletic Training program hosted an open house today for prospective students of all ages to learn more about their program. It was a great time to learn about the lab spaces, curriculum, and they ended the day with some hands on training in using ace bandages to wrap injuries. This initiative was lead by Dr. Bethany Wisthoff, Associate Clinical Professor of Athletic Training and Graduate Athletic Training Director of Clinical Education, and Dr. Stacy Walker, Interim Program Director and Professor of Athletic Training. Big thanks to all whom were able to stop by the event and learn more about the program.

We just wrapped up a fun Charlietown Tail Gate for the 100th Homecoming at BSU. We had such a great time enjoying popcorn, and meeting everyone who stopped by our booth. You really leaned into doing the Grip Strength. It's one of the vital health screenings we use with the Healthy Lifestyle Center's outreach events in the community. Kickoff was at 3:30 p.m. and there were very few tickets left for the game we heard. Also congratulations to the Healthy Lifestyle Center's Bed Race team who won their race on Friday. GO CARDS. We can't wait to do this again next year!

We are all set up at the the Charlie Town Tailgate, which opens around 1 p.m. to the public. We have grip strength, some swag and popcorn. It's a great day for football at Scheumann Stadium. 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

Come TailGate with us! Tomorrow, October 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Scheumann Stadium, we'll be hosting our College of Health Alumni booth part of Reunion Row. We'll have a tent and a banner just like last year, so we'll be easy to find. We're planning to have snow cones and popcorn, a prize wheel, and grip strength. Please stop by and say hello, grab some snacks and celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the College of Health, and the 100th Anniversary of Homecoming. We'll be taking on Sacramento State with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

We love that the Bed Races Take Place right in front of our building on Riverside Ave. While we cheer for all the teams, we're pretty excited the Healthy Lifestyle Center Grad Students are a new contender to add to the powerful ROTC teams this year. The Jump Start Students were the last time we fielded a team directly. They won their heat, it was very exciting. We hope to see you there at noon tomorrow. It will be a fantastic day to celebrate 100 years of Homecoming Traditions, and 10 years of the College of Health.

We are very excited the Healthy Lifestyle Center has been able to expand their services to include Primary Care with Nurse Practitioners. The HLC was created to help improve the health and wellness of East Central Indiana. Their staff works hard to bring free vital health screenings, like A1C, Blood Glucose, Blood Pressure, Glaucoma and more to people who often don't have a primary care provider. A primary care provider in our clinic is a Family Nurse Practitioner, who can conduct annual physicals, follow up appointments, and help you manage common conditions, like diabetes and high blood pressure and more. Their services are appointment based but they can also help if you're sick and may need a prescription, like an antibiotic to feel better. You're one phone call away from making an appointment.

The Healthy Lifestyle Center now has Nurse Practitioners who are here for your health needs. They can serve as your primary care provider, managing your healthcare including annual physicals, medication management and more. You can also make an appointment if you have acute care needs, such as a troubling rash, or a sinus infection. Give us a call to make an appointment. 765-285-1293

We wanted to share the upcoming vaccine clinic information.
The Indiana Immunization Coalition is once again partnering with the Ball State School of Nursing to host a vaccine clinic on campus. It will be Thursday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the LA Pittenger Center Ballroom at 2000 W. University Ave, Muncie, IN 47306.If you would like to participate in the immunization clinic, please complete the online form at: patients.vaxcare.com/registration, using the Enrollment Code: IN65942, and Select (Clinic Name): Ball State University 10/29
Walk-ins the day of the clinic are welcome, but anyone under 18 MUST have parent/guardian consent. Please bring the vaccination records for the individual who is getting vaccinated. Please bring your insurance cards. We accept and bill all insurance (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid). There is no cost to those without insurance, except for the Shingles and adult RSV vaccines. All vaccines will be provided as available. We will consult the state immunization registry to assess immunization needs. If you would like to refuse a specific vaccine, please contact the Indiana Immunization Coalition at least 48 hours prior to the event at [email protected]
