From Muncie to China—and a whole new perspective on economics. 🌏

Miller College students Aaron Turner and Katherine Wilcox spent a week in China this summer as part of the 2026 China–U.S. Youth Future Climate Leaders Exchange Program.

They toured environmental and green technology sites, worked with American and Chinese students on climate-related challenges, and saw firsthand how economics, policy, technology, and sustainability intersect.

And just as important, they built relationships and learned from people whose experiences and perspectives are different from their own.

Ball State Cardinals, meet one of our own: Corey Parchman. 🏈

Corey made his mark at Ball State as one of the fastest players in college football and still holds the longest kick return in Ball State and NCAA history—a record that even landed him on The Late Show with David Letterman. He later played for five NFL teams, including the Colts and Packers.

But football was only the beginning. Corey went on to build a successful career in real estate and development as founder of CorePar Holdings and CorePar Development. He is also a bestselling author and founded two nonprofit preschools serving underserved communities.

Today, Corey lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Dr. Elisha Parchman, and their son, Corey Jr.

We hope to see you on August 27th for the Miller College of Business Dialogue along with the Conversations in Entrepreneurship and Leadership Series , featuring Corey Parchman!

📍 Location: Student Center Ballroom

⏰ Time: 11:00 AM – 12:15 PM

From Ball State football to business, authorship, and community impact, Corey’s story is a great example of where a Cardinal journey can lead. ❤️

What can happen when you say yes to opportunities before you feel completely ready?

For Ball State senior Torin Dove, it led to the CFA Research Challenge, co-founding the Investment Club, studying abroad, earning a double major in Finance and Economics—and recognition as one of Ball State’s Top 50 Students.

As he prepares to graduate a semester early, Torin reflects on the people and experiences that helped shape his Miller College journey.
