The Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma (ACM@UCO) is more than a music school, it’s a connection. UCO has teamed up with the ACM of London to offer a music education that really is all about the music. Students are taught by accomplished musicians, production experts, and music business professionals, people who have been there. Not only that, but students will also receive master class instruction from some of today’s stars from the world of rock, pop, gospel and country music. Through ACM@UCO, students will connect to the music industry through auditions, live performances, industry showcases, as well as a web-based database of talent. At ACM@UCO, our focus is on building the careers of our talented students through preparation and exposure.

Tonight's edition of Live Room Thursdays has a special purpose as it's also a fundraiser to help benefit hip hop musician Tony Foster Jr. and his need for a kidney transplant. Come out tonight at 7:00 PM in the Live Room and support Tony in a way that truly matters! Also performing are Clean Windley, Flow The Wise, and Sid Carter. Tickets available at the door.

One Oklahoma man is turning to music and to his community for support as he faces what he calls “the fight of my life.”

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Brenda Brent, ACM’s longtime Director of Academic Student Services.

Although Brenda had been with UCO for many years, she started working at ACM in 2013. Over the years, she tirelessly helped students enrolling them in the classes they needed to achieve their dreams.

We will all miss Brenda’s kindness, patience and the little things she did, like always leaving candy outside her office door.

Something you may not know - all incoming ACM freshmen are automatically enrolled in a course called Broncho Blueprint.

Broncho Blueprint is a two credit-hour course designed for UCO freshmen students to explore a selected academic discipline, practice professional and academic skills, and learn more about the UCO campus and its communities.

At ACM, Blueprint is taught by the beloved Ryan Hendrix who does a masterful job of helping new students become better oriented to the resources available at ACM, make new friends, and hear from a variety of guests including CEO, Scott Booker.

This session covers everything from full hardware overviews and software deep-dives to advanced operational workflows.

Plus, this training is now eligible for 2 AVIXA CTS Renewal Units (RUs)—simply complete the course and pass the exam to earn your credits and official dLive certification.

This special educational event is free and open to the public, but registration is strongly required. We recommend you do so as quickly as possible to ensure your space. Monday, August 24th, we will host an Intro to Mixing Training Session open to only currently enrolled ACM students. Check back for more info on that!
