Remembering Gloria Steinem's October 2011 visit to the Oklahoma City University campus, where she helped plant memorial trees in honor of longtime friend Wilma Mankiller, 1985-95 Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. She concluded her remarks at the dedication: "And in Wilma’s spirit, and in the spirit of planting a tree for the future -- which is the greatest act of faith that all of us here could possibly do as it is the most natural and the deepest act of faith in the future to plant a tree –- we are saying, in Wilma’s spirit, that we will have faith. Not only that today is a good day, but that the future will be full of good days."
