Bravo to alumnus Dr. Raul Dominguez on his promotion to Pacific Lutheran University's Director of Choral Studies and director of the school's century-old Choir of the West, effective in Fall 2027!

Earlier this year, Dominguez conducted the TMEA premiere of his arrangement of Guadalajara, created for the 2026 Texas All-State Tenor-Bass Choir, marking the first time a mariachi choral composition was performed at Texas All State. In 2025, he made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut, leading the New England Symphonic Ensemble world premiere of Loretta K. Notareschi’s Climate Mass.

Dominguez is an OCU Presser Scholar and double major in music education and vocal performance who went on to earn his MM at Ithaca College and DMA at University of Colorado Boulder.
