Our office coordinates a variety of programs, both international and domestic, that help students to connect to the world. Services provided by the office include:

-Individualized Study Abroad and National Student Exchange advising
-Information on financial aid, grants and scholarships
-A comprehensive resource library of study and travel materials
-Liaison between international universities

and study abroad students
-Orientations for incoming and outgoing students and their families
-Informational seminars and presentations to campus groups upon request
-Mentoring program for incoming international exchange students

Happy Throwback Thursday, Cowboys! 🤠

Haley spent her Spring 2026 semester in Florence, Italy with IAU.

Here is what Haley Roseberry had to say about her experience abroad:

“If I could convince anyone who is on the fence about studying abroad, my advice would be to take the leap of faith and do it! Spending a semester abroad was one of the best decisions I made in college. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone and gave me the opportunity to travel, experience new cultures, and meet people from all over the world.

I studied with the Institute for American Universities (IAU) in Florence, Italy, and I truly cannot say enough good things about the program. My favorite part was the faculty and staff and how intentional they were about creating a community for their students. From trips outside of Florence to weekly soccer games, IAU made Florence feel like home while encouraging us to explore everything beyond it.

Studying abroad gave me memories, friendships, and experiences that I will carry with me long after leaving Florence. I’m so grateful I took the leap!”

Destinee spent the summer in Aix-en Provence, France with IAU.

Here is what destinee stephens had to say about her experience abroad!

“At first, I was a little nervous, but I quickly adapted and learned how to step outside of my comfort zone. I got to try new food, went to mass, and met a ton of new people.

I realized around week two that my smile literally never faded, I think I was the happiest I had ever been. I do believe it was partially Aix, but I think it was mostly the people I got to know along the way.

I met many people studying at the same university from all over the U.S., every single interaction I had was special. I would say the best part about studying abroad is definitely the memories gained, Aix will forever hold a special place in my heart.”

Howdy Pokes! Ella is spending her Summer 2026 abroad in Barcelona, Spain with IAU. Here is what ella has to say about her experience so far!

“Spending my summer in Barcelona has been one of the best experiences of my life. Every day has been an opportunity to explore a new culture, meet incredible people from around the world, and grow in ways I never expected. From wandering the city’s historic streets to enjoying the beaches and experiencing Spanish traditions firsthand, I’ve learned so much both inside and outside the classroom. Studying abroad through Oklahoma State has given me more confidence, a broader perspective, and memories I’ll carry with me forever.”

“My time in Italy was truly life-changing. Since I traveled alone for the first couple days, it showed me how to not only be independent, but learn how to communicate with people who spoke a different language. I learned more about their customs, their culture, as well as some of the history. I got to visit Milan, Lugano Switzerland, lake como, and Venice.

What made this trip unforgettable was the once in a lifetime opportunity to visit so many places in just a week. Being able to experience the beautiful views, make lifelong friendships, and stories to tell for the rest of my life.”
