TJC was honored to welcome Dr. Wynn Rosser, Commissioner of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, to campus on Sept. 23.

During his visit, Dr. Rosser met with representatives of the TJC Board of Trustees, including President Lonny Uzzell, First Vice President Clint Roxburgh, and Second Vice President Paul Latta. Commissioner Rosser also spent time with TJC students and members of the College’s Executive Cabinet.

TJC President & CEO Dr. Juan E. Mejia shared his appreciation for Commissioner Rosser’s visit. As well as their long-standing relationship in higher education leadership. “It has been an honor to work with Commissioner Rosser throughout the years,” Mejia said.

Since beginning his role as THECB commissioner in January 2025, Dr. Rosser has continued his work to advance higher education and improve outcomes for Texans, particularly those in low-income and rural communities. Prior to joining THECB, he served as president and CEO of the T.L.L. Temple Foundation and CEO of the Greater Texas Foundation, following 14 years in faculty, staff, and administrative roles at Texas A&M University.

We’re grateful to Dr. Rosser for spending time with the TJC community and learning more about the College!
