A new study led by Smeal's Timothy Simin and Brent Ambrose finds that a company’s location may be a stronger predictor of returns than its growth potential.

By incorporating regional housing market data, the team discovered that portfolios built with headquarter location in mind could deliver returns up to three times higher than traditional growth-focused portfolios.

Real-world learning ➡️ Real impact

Through the Penn State Prime Marketing 495A course, Smeal students take on real client challenges complete with job titles, corporate mentors, and agency-level deadlines.

The students partnered with CeraVe to develop marketing and packaging concepts for a new sunscreen. Recently, they learned that the company is using some ideas from their campaign including package design elements and social media content.
