Upon using these techniques and guidance - The Ecological Farmer said, "I put out 9 catch boxes and 6 out of 9 have been filled so far!"

1. Just use 2 drops of lemongrass oil at the back of your nuc box / catch box / brood chamber with frames that have wax starter strips or full foundation sheets in them

2. Place the boxes where bees are already foraging

3. Preferably above ground by 1m - as the stronger colonies fly at more elevated levels than weaker colonies

4. Keep an eye out for a trekking swarm moving in

5. Trekking Swarms are not USUALLY* dangerous and carry low risk of stinging as every bee is a vital for the survival of the colony and they tend to be quite docile. *Take care nonetheless!

It's quite a special experience to watch a colony arrive and pull in to a new home.
