A NEW BEAT IS COMING TO MIDRAND!

From an empty room to a space where sound, creativity and technology come together.

We’re making progress on our new School of Music and Sound Production at AIE Midrand, bringing exciting opportunities to aspiring music producers, sound engineers and creatives.

What you see today is still a work in progress, but the vision is taking shape. This area is being transformed into a control room, complete with a viewing window into the recording booth next door, while the neighbouring classroom will become theory labs.

Until now, our School of Music and Sound Production has been based in Hatfield. We’re excited to expand into Midrand and create more opportunities for students to turn their passion for sound into a future.

The space is taking shape. The future is finding its sound.

A qualification is your starting point. What you do with it sets you apart.

South Africa’s graduate job market is becoming increasingly competitive. So, how can you stand out before you even graduate?

In his latest article, AIE CEO Leon Smalberger shares five practical ways students can build experience and develop skills employers value, including:

Taking responsibility for campus projects.
Turning coursework into real-world solutions.
Collaborating with students from other disciplines.
Gaining workplace experience before graduating.
Participating in industry challenges and practical research.

Your career journey starts long before your first job application. The more opportunities you take to apply your knowledge, solve problems and learn through experience, the more you can demonstrate what you bring to the workplace.

From empty space to something extraordinary.

We’re already building the future at AIE, and now, the next chapter begins with Block B!

With Block A already part of our campus, we’re excited to begin work on Block B, a new development set to become home to our School of Architecture and School of Art and Design, opening in 2027.

Right now, it may be an empty space, but the vision is much bigger. We’re creating more room for creativity, innovation, collaboration and the next generation of industry talent.

This is more than a renovation. It’s another step towards shaping the future of AIE.

You saw classrooms. We see lab, lab, labs!

Our Engineering spaces are being transformed, and we’re making room for something exciting!

The deconstruction is making way for upgraded Engineering labs dedicated to Electronics, Mechanics & Dynamics, Fluid & Thermodynamics, and Mechatronics & Siemens.

These purpose-built spaces will give our future engineers more opportunities to explore, experiment and put theory into practice.

The countdown to a new era of hands-on learning is on.

Our Atrium is taking shape!

There’s more progress to share as we continue transforming our canteen and Atrium area into a fresh, welcoming space for our students.

We’re getting closer to creating a place to grab a bite, catch up with friends, take a break between classes and enjoy campus life.

There’s still work to be done, but we can’t wait for you to experience the finished space.
