A recent article highlighted a rare superbloom at Grootbos in the Western Cape after devastating wildfires in 2025. The fynbos biome is one of the world’s richest floral regions, and many species depend on fire cycles for regeneration. That makes it a beautiful example of how disturbance, recovery and biodiversity are connected.
