Having proudly hosted the Watersports Inclusion Games in Kinsale in 2019 — the same year we launched our wheelchair-accessible powerboat, Saoirse — we were delighted that Kinsale Outdoor Education Centre was once again represented at this year’s Games, held recently in Galway.

The 2026 Watersports Inclusion Games brought together hundreds of participants and volunteers for a wonderful celebration of inclusive watersports, with opportunities to experience sailing, kayaking, canoeing, waterskiing, powerboating and much more.

Events such as this are an important reminder of just how far inclusive and accessible watersports have progressed in recent years. They also showcase the incredible work being carried out by clubs, sporting organisations, training centres, instructors and, importantly, the many volunteers who give their time and energy to make these opportunities possible.

Above all, the Games demonstrate something we strongly believe in across Cork ETB Outdoor Education: the outdoors and our waterways should be places where everyone can belong, participate and experience adventure.

Regardless of ability, background or the challenges a person may face, everyone should have opportunities to experience the freedom, confidence, connection and enjoyment that being active on the water can bring — and to share those experiences with family, friends and their wider community.

A huge congratulations to Irish Sailing, Canoeing Ireland, Galway Sports Partnership and everyone involved in delivering another fantastic Watersports Inclusion Games. We were delighted to play our part and look forward to continuing to support greater inclusion and accessibility in outdoor and watersports activities across Cork and beyond.

Cork ETB is delighted to announce a new multi-year sponsorship agreement with Cork GAA and Rebel Óg, strengthening our long-standing relationship with Gaelic Games throughout Cork and further supporting the development of young athletes across the county.

The partnership will see Cork ETB become title sponsor of the Rebel Óg Minor and Cork GAA Club U21 Hurling and Football Championships from 2026 to 2028, encompassing 222 teams competing across a wide range of competitions.

The sponsorship reflects Cork ETB's commitment to empowering learners, supporting communities and promoting participation, inclusion and excellence both within and beyond the classroom. This forms part of a broader partnership agreement, which includes support for Cork Camogie's Development Squads at Under-14 to Under-17 level from 2027 to 2029, helping some of the county’s most promising young players compete on the national stage.
