Plunket College provides courses in Repeat Leaving Certificate and Adult Leaving Certificate. Well done to Ken Byrne on his outstanding achievement in being awarded Auto Service Tech Student of the Year at the Graduation Ceremonies.
Ken has always had a passion for the automotive industry, and when the opportunity arose to return to education and enrolled on the course, he didn’t hesitate to take it. Through hard work, dedication, and a genuine enthusiasm for the motor trade, he made the most of every opportunity throughout the course.
We wish Ken every success as he begins his career in the automotive industry.

Christopher Luidialam's hard work, dedication, and commitment were recognised when he was awarded Student of the Year on the Motor Vehicle Maintenance course at City of Dublin FET Plunket College.
After spending almost four years working in the motor industry, Christopher made the decision to return to education to further develop his skills and take the next step towards becoming a qualified Motor Technician.
Today, Christopher is beginning the next chapter of his career as an Apprentice HGV Mechanic with Dennehy Pro Renault, Dublin.

Fantastic day at the City of Dublin ETB Transforming Lives Expo in Croke Park.
An inspiring event, bringing together so many people dedicated to education, growth and opportunity.

Education and Training Boards Ireland Educational Policy and Development Officers Niall Mulpeter, and Megan Whyte discussed ETB as school patrons alongside Principal of Cornamaddy Community National School Yvonne Naughton.

Digital Creator and Presenter Kasey Campion interviewed two City of Dublin Plunket College, Pre-Apprenticeship Motor Vehicle Maintenance students Ahmed Quanharry and Thomas Moulds at the Department of Transport’s LogisTYcs Skills Expo 2026 in the National Basketball Arena.
They discussed their journey from completing the Leaving Certificate to graduating from the Pre-Apprenticeship Motor Vehicle Maintenance course at Plunket College and the career opportunities that opened up for them.
Both students highlighted how the course provided a clear pathway into the automotive industry, helping them build confidence, practical skills and valuable industry connections.
Thomas completed his ten-week (one day per week) work experience placement with Dublin Bus (Bus Átha Cliath), gaining insight into the repair and maintenance of the country’s largest public transport fleet.
Ahmed completed his work experience placement with Ace Auto Body Repair, gaining hands-on experience in vehicle body and crash repair in a state-of-the-art, ultra-modern workshop.
Their stories highlight how further education and pre apprenticeship courses are opening doors and creating direct routes into skilled careers across the automotive industry.
