Mission and Purpose:
The mission of the UAB National Alumni Society is to support the University in its pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, and public service and to create, foster, and nurture a mutually beneficial relationship between the University, its students and alumni. The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the welfare and excellence of The University of Alabama at B
irmingham and to assist in the development and support of a mutually beneficial relationship between UAB and its alumni. The society is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes for the promotion of UAB and its alumni. Company Overview:
The UAB National Alumni Society (NAS) was formally introduced in 1979. Since then the Alumni Society has seen 33 years of growth with 9,500 members and 60 chapters across the country and world. The UAB Alumni society is responsible forgiving over $750,000 worth of scholarships, grants, and gifts to the University. A few years after the NAS was founded, the Student Alumni Society (SAS) was established to help students make the transition from being a student to becoming an alumni member. Both the NAS and the SAS offer outstanding benefits to their members. We are a member-based organization funded by membership dues and donations. We have a staff of employees and might have a handful of students/interns working with us at any given time.
