We offer one-on-one writing consultations that are open and free for all UAB students. Our experienced tutors will help students at any stage of the writing process, from understanding the assignment and brainstorming ideas to revising and refining a final draft.

We are partnering with UAB Libraries and Thank You Books to collect books for the babies in the UAB Hospital NICU! We are so excited for this drive and can't wait to see how many new books we'll be able to collect for the tiniest readers!

There are several collection boxes placed around campus and at Thank You Books in Crestwood. There's a box right outside of the Writing Center as well as one on the fifth floor of University Hall.

If you donate a NEW board or hardcover book, you have the opportunity to enter into our raffle. The prizes (yes, prizes) are definitely worthwhile, so make sure you bring a brand new book and scan the QR code to enter. The winner will be annouced in December.

Tutor spotlight: One of our undergraduate tutors, Roman, attended the TEAM-UP Together Student Experience Conference this past weekend in Washington, D.C. They presented their poster on
plasma physics! We are so proud of them and feel so lucky to have them as a tutor! 💚

Contrary to popular belief, we don't JUST have English tutors at the UWC. We have tutors that major in all different majors, so don't hesitate to book an appointment for your lab report or sociology paper; we can help with it all!
