🎃👻 We’re getting into the Halloween spirit! From creative costumes to pumpkin painting, our counseling crew is having a little spooky-season fun! 🧡🖤

🕸️ What’s a counselor’s biggest Halloween fear? A treatment plan with no goals, a progress note that’s past due, and a client who says, “Can we go five minutes over?” 😱😂

🦃 Community Project Reminder! 💛

Our Counseling Program is collecting donations to help provide Thanksgiving baskets for local families through the Department of Children’s Services!

If you’re enrolled in Techniques or Addictions, remember to bring your assigned donations to class this week. There’s still time for others to join in, too! Donations can be dropped off in the Counseling Suite (HPB 202).

📅 Final donation deadline: Monday, November 9

Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. Thank you for helping us support local families and make the season a little brighter! 💛

Learning beyond the classroom! 🚌

Dr. Porter’s Addictions Counseling class recently visited Willow Grove Recovery to explore addiction treatment services and connect classroom learning with real-world clinical practice.

Experiences like these help prepare our future counselors with the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful impact in their profession.

📚 CECE Study Sessions Are BACK! ✏️

Second- and third-year students, it’s time to start preparing! 💪🏽 Our first CECE Study Sessions of the academic year are coming up on October 26 & 27!

We know March may feel far away, but trust us… the comprehensive exam will be here before you know it! 👀 Now is the perfect time to get a head start, review key concepts, practice your test-taking skills, and connect with your peers as you prepare for this important milestone.

We’ll have study materials, practice questions, and opportunities to work through content together. You don’t have to tackle exam prep alone! 🤝🏽
