Learning doesn’t just happen inside the classroom—and neither does the work of our faculty! ♥️

Whether she’s teaching and mentoring future counselors or rolling up her sleeves to serve others, Dr. Wills is making an impact wherever she goes. We love seeing our faculty put service into action and demonstrate the importance of connection, leadership, and giving back.

This is what it looks like when Peayple make a difference… inside and outside the classroom!

✨ I’m a school counselor. What’s YOUR superpower? 🦸🏾‍♀️🦸🏽‍♂️

Our school counseling practicum students are stepping into their next chapter—and they’re doing it with a little extra inspiration in hand! 📓💫

These notebooks are more than just a place to take notes. They’re a reminder that school counselors have the power to listen, advocate, encourage, connect, and help students see possibilities they may not see in themselves yet. 💙

We can’t wait to watch these emerging school counselors discover and strengthen their own superpowers as they move from counselor-in-training to professional school counselor!

🎓 Future school counselors, your superpower is already in you. Now it’s time to put it to work!

🎤 Real-World Insights. Real-World Impact.

A HUGE thank you to Briana Davis, School Counselor at West Creek Elementary, for joining our graduate school counseling students! 🐾

Mrs. Davis shared her experiences and helped our students see what leadership, advocacy, and collaboration look like in the day-to-day work of a school counselor.

We’re grateful for school counselors like Mrs. Davis who are willing to open the door, share their experiences, and help prepare the next generation of counselors. 🫶🏽

👀 We have questions.

A counseling practice session between two students? ✅
Great listening skills? ✅
Hands-on learning? ✅
A mysterious pair of legs just casually appearing on the floor? …🤨😂

We’re not exactly sure what happened here, and we’re choosing not to ask too many questions. 🤷🏽‍♀️

What we do know is that counselor education at APSU can be interactive, experiential, and occasionally…unexpected. 😂

We’ll let you decide:
Dr. Simpson…is that you? 👀

🎩 Our Clinical Mental Health Counselors Are Doing the Work!

There’s something powerful about watching our Clinical Mental Health Counseling students take what they’ve learned in the classroom and put it into practice. 🎓🛋️

From building therapeutic relationships to creating safe spaces where clients can heal, grow, and navigate life’s challenges, our students are showing up, doing the work, and making a difference—one client at a time.

We’re proud to prepare counselors who lead with skill, compassion, authenticity, and purpose. ✨

The classroom is where they learn it.
The counseling room is where they make an impact. 🫶🏽

We see you Jasmine ♥️
