Sharif Bey is coming to APSU!
We are excited to welcome Sharif Bey on October 15 as part of our Visiting Artist Lecture Series organized by the Department of Art+Design and funded by CECA.
Sharif Bey, a ceramicist, sculptor, educator, and writer, was recently named the inaugural recipient of the Spector Craft Prize. His work and ideas are also featured in the recent Q Editorial article, “The Hand Enters the Museum,” and in Interior Design Magazine.
We are sharing a few highlights from these recent features and are excited to continue the conversation in person.
His lecture, “Awakening in Contemporary Craft,” will explore how contemporary craft can become a space for personal expression, cultural connection, and material storytelling.
