Seven APSU students and a staff member recently traveled to Puerto Rico through the Office of Community Engagement and Sustainability’s Alternative Break Trip program, volunteering with Centro Esperanza to support ongoing hurricane relief and restoration efforts.

The group spent the week clearing debris and preparing the site for a new outdoor learning facility that will serve local youth.

For these Govs, the experience was about more than service. It was an opportunity to build meaningful connections and make a hands-on impact in the community. ❤️

Creating more welcoming spaces for every Gov is the goal behind a new initiative at Austin Peay!💪

This fall, Full Spectrum Learning is launching two Mobile Sensory Carts filled with tools to help students stay focused, comfortable and engaged in classrooms, workshops and campus events.

Funded through a Student Affairs ENGAGE! Grant and GOVing Tuesday, the carts will make sensory support more accessible across campus.
