As we get ready for our next intramural sport to begin (soccer starts tonight), we want to take a moment to congratulate our honors team who made it to the semifinals in indoor volleyball. 🏐While we didn't clinch the win, it was a close game! We had three teams participating this season and loved the enthusiasm you all brought to the court each week!

Our honors students are kilt-ing it! Students in Dr. Louis Keiner’s Honors 302: Scottish Highlands class got to try on a variety of kilts as they discussed the origin of tartan patterns and the rich cultural history behind Scotland’s fashion traditions. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

✨ It’s Why Honors Wednesday ✨

Have you ever wondered why students choose the HTC Honors College at Coastal Carolina University? 🤔 Hear it from them firsthand!

“My name is Kendall Ackerman, and I am a junior from Mrytle Beach, South Carolina. I am majoring in recreation and sport management with a minor in marketing. I also serve as a women’s basketball student manager. Choosing honors was one of the best decisions I’ve made at Coastal. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the best advisors who have made my experience here feel smooth and easy. One of my favorite benefits is early registration because it takes away the stress of worrying about whether I’ll get the classes I need. Honors has allowed me to excel not only academically, but also in all of the opportunities that have come along with it. I think everyone who is given the opportunity should give honors a chance!”

✨ It’s Why Honors Wednesday ✨

Have you ever wondered why students choose the HTC Honors College at Coastal Carolina University? 🤔 Hear it from them firsthand!

“My name is Connor McElveen, and I am a freshman from Lamar, South Carolina. I am majoring in exercise science, and I am involved in the exercise science club. I love the honors dorms, the study rooms are so useful. I spent so many hours there reviewing kinesiology. It is so nice to visualize everything on the whiteboard. I love my honors class. It really helps me think more critically, and we have presentations that help me sharpen my professional skills. Honors has helped me find friends who have similar work ethics and I can rely on and study with. I love it here and am glad I applied to be a part of the honors program!”
