Two days, countless connections and one shared purpose! That’s a wrap on our Fall 2026 M.Ed. in Counseling Residency at Coastal Carolina University. 🎓🎉

Our future clinical mental health and school counselors came together for hands-on learning, collaboration and professional networking.

✨ “You get out of an experience what you are willing to put into it.”

These future counselors truly showed up and gave it their all. The future of counseling is bright, and we are excited to see the impact they make in our schools, communities and beyond. 🥳

We're thrilled to celebrate the partnership between Spadoni College and the YMCA Early Learning Academy at Coastal Carolina University. Through this collaboration, students from our early childhood education program recently designed and implemented standards-based lessons focused on physical development with First Steps 4K students.

By leading activities that target fine and gross motor skills, our students are bridging the gap between university learning and real-world teaching. This hands-on experience strengthens our future educators' lesson-planning skills while engaging young learners in purposeful, active play.

Together, we are building strong partnerships and bright beginnings.

🌟Congratulations to Dr. Nicole M. Arcuri-Sanders, professor of counselor education and M.Ed. in Counseling program coordinator, and M.Ed. in Counseling candidate and U.S. Marine Corps veteran James Michalek, for their collaborative presentation, “Context Matters: Understanding the Unspoken Expectations of Military-Connected Students and Families in Civilian Schools.”🌟

They combined professional knowledge and lived experience to explore the strengths and expectations military-connected families bring to civilian schools.

We’re midway through the semester, and our EDEC 379: Early Childhood: Field Experience III juniors are doing some wonderful things!

Our future educators are creating and implementing meaningful, hands-on lessons and then taking those ideas into their field placements. It’s exciting to see them putting what they’re learning into practice, getting creative, and growing in confidence as future teachers!

So proud of the hard work, creativity, and dedication they're showing as they prepare to make a difference in their own classrooms. 🍎✨
