We are the Sport and Leisure Association of Madison. "SLAM" serves the student body of James Madison

SLAM stands for The Sport and Leisure Association of Madison. We are a student run organization at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. As an organization we yearn to serve Sport and Recreation Management majors along with the rest of the JMU student body. We provide many services to our members such as trips to regional networking conferences and site visits to sporting venues. SLA

M also hosts guest speakers from the Sport Industry and participates in various community service opportunities.

Last but not least we have rising sophomore, Hope Pollin! Hope had the amazing opportunity to join other Hart School students in volunteering at the 2026 FIFA World Cup! We’re so proud to have a member representing at this stage!!

Next is Darren Shapiro, rising junior, who spent the summer as a camp counselor at the Congressional Country Club! This was a great way to experience working in the recreation industry! Congrats Darren!
