🌟 May is Mental Health Awareness Month🌟
At the Child Development Clinic, we realize that stress can be tough on everyone, especially our little ones. Teaching children healthy coping skills helps build resilience and emotional strength that lasts a lifetime.
Encourage trying out some coping skills as a family regularly to promote mentally healthy kids. Together, we can create a safe space for them to grow and thrive!

A strong sense of connection and belonging is essential for mental health — and it plays a meaningful role in su***de prevention.
The Campus Su***de Prevention Center of Virginia is working to strengthen belonging for military. Small steps toward visibility and understanding can make a big difference.
Service members, veterans, and military family members are invited to download and display one of our digital badges in their email signature. These badges help highlight military affiliation, spark connection, and build visibility for those who share this experience.
We also encourage higher-education professionals who are not military-connected to deepen their military cultural competence. Free online trainings are available to help you better support military-affiliated students and colleagues. Explore these resources and more at: https://campussu***depreventionva.org/military

Show your support. Strengthen connection. Start today.

Promotores de Salud is excited to collaborate with the South River Watershed Coalition to host the annual Riverfest in downtown Waynesboro.🐟This springtime event brings the community together to enjoy warm weather, food, games, prizes, and opportunities to learn about the history and science of our local watershed. Highlights include the duck release in the South River at Constitution Park and a special screening of the short film “Chessie’s Big Adventure.”
As April is National Minority Health Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about health disparities and promoting better health outcomes for racial and ethnic minority communities, PDS plays a vital role in community outreach. Our program focuses on promoting health education within the Latino community and those living and working in and around Waynesboro, as well as along the South and South Fork Shenandoah River. We provide guidance from the fish consumption advisories and help explain the potential effects of mercury exposure. We educate Spanish speakers and other community members while collaborating with nonprofit partners to share important information widely among impacted populations.
If you have any questions, would like to be a part of our Spanish or English cohort for the Community Health Worker program, or just stay up to date on our work, feel free to send us a DM or follow our page on Instagram, Facebook and now even on TikTok. 💙
