🌎 The Georgetown Americas Institute (G*I) and CAF - Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean are pleased to welcome Jorge Argüello, president of the Embajada Abierta Foundation and twice Argentina’s ambassador to the United States, for a conversation with Michael Shifter, adjunct professor at Georgetown University, on Friday, October 30.

Drawing on his experience as Argentina’s permanent representative to the United Nations and its G20 sherpa, Argüello will share his perspectives on where Latin America and the Caribbean fit in an international order reshaped by geopolitical rivalry, economic fragmentation, and new technologies.

The conversation will also explore how countries in the region can navigate great-power competition; leverage emerging opportunities in trade, investment, energy, and technology; and strengthen their international influence through regional cooperation and strategic partnerships.

🇨🇴 The Georgetown Americas Institute is pleased to welcome Claudia López, former Mayor of Bogotá, senator, and recent presidential candidate in Colombia, for a conversation with Michael Shifter, adjunct professor at Georgetown University.
