Teaching the next generation of chemists and chemical engineers is only part of Dr. Bala Subramaniam's impact. Through his research, mentorship and service, he's helping shape a more sustainable future for communities in Kansas and beyond.

Whether developing technologies that reduce carbon footprint or making research and education accessible, Dr. Subramaniam is driven by a simple goal: creating solutions that benefit both human health and the environment.

Dr. Subramaniam was recently elected as a Fellow of the American Chemical Society, one of the highest honors in the chemical sciences. The recognition celebrates not only his research in sustainable chemistry and engineering but also his volunteer service advancing green chemistry and engineering.

Congratulations to Dr. Subramaniam on this well-deserved honor. We're proud to celebrate his lasting impact on the KU community, the chemical society, and a more sustainable future. 💙❤️
