Students at the 2026 ForestryWorks Field Course reached new heights as they started to explore what forestry means. They learned how to identify and measure trees, take inventory of a forest plot, and assess silvicultural methods.

Students at the 2026 Kentucky 4-H Teen Conference spent two days learning all about forestry and wood products. They started out by learning about forest ecosystems through tree ID, tree measurement, and a bird survey. They discussed how sustainable timber harvesting benefits both humans and wildlife.

The students got to have a hands-on experience learning about the science of making wood products. They made cheese blocks and houses for mason bees.

Throughout both days, students learned about careers in the forest industry that aligned with their interests and goals.
