We are extremely excited to present the Mivos Quartet, “one of America’s most daring and ferocious new-music ensembles” (The Chicago Reader), to Oklahoma audiences!
Mivos will perform works devoted to contemporary composers Jalalu-Kalvert Nelson and Joël-François Durand, and present new music to diverse audiences. This will include two events open to the public.

Learn, grow, perform, and belong!
Registration is open for the Sooner String Academy at the University of Oklahoma! An orchestra designed specifically for 5th and 6th-grade beginning string students (violin, viola, cello, and double bass). No prior experience is required!
When: Tuesdays from 4:30 – 5:20 PM (Fall: Sept 8 – Dec 1, 2026 | Spring: Jan 19 – April 13, 2027)
Where: Catlett Music Center, University of Oklahoma
Cost: $180 per semester (12 sessions)
What: Weekly orchestra rehearsals, instrument-specific instruction, master teachers, and mentoring from OU Music Education majors.
