☀️ Friday + Sunshine = Good Vibes! ☀️

Campus is looking beautiful, so get out there and enjoy it! 😎 But before you head into the weekend, keep these quick safety tips in mind:

🚶‍♀️ Watch where you’re walking! Use crosswalks, stay alert, and keep an eye out for traffic.

🎒 Keep your stuff safe! Don’t leave valuables unattended or visible in your vehicle. Lock it up, take it with you, and help keep theft off your weekend plans!

👀 Look out for each other! A little awareness goes a long way.

Some stories stay with you.

Jimmy Wilson had been an officer with the Omaha Police Department for just over a year when, on August 20, 1995, his life was taken in the line of duty. He was shot while still inside his patrol car—a heartbreaking reminder of the courage and sacrifice that can come with wearing a badge.

Looking at his memorial, the words are simple, but they say so much:

“You touched us last.”

There is something especially heartbreaking about those words. A young officer who had so much life ahead of him, who put on his uniform and went to work serving others, never got the chance to come home.

Years pass. The badge may change. The faces may fade from memory.

But Jimmy Wilson is not forgotten.

Today, we remember the man, the officer, and the sacrifice he made.

Jimmy, you touched lives then.
You still touch hearts today.
We remember you. We honor you. We will never forget you. 🇺🇸💙
