We spent the last week fixing up Chick Hicks from BAJA SAE NY, and welcoming some new faces to our team! We took apart the CVT, fixed the brakes, and drove the cars behind the shop.

We have lots of work to do, and new projects to work on as design season picks up! If you are interested in joining our team, come to our Monday meetings or Friday/Saturday shop hours.

The Gene Haas Foundation has always had a huge impact on Clarkson Baja. We use Haas CNCs to create our parts, they have been one of our longest partnerships, and they have set up a scholarship fund, to encourage students to pursue CNC machining.

This year, one of our members Keith Cronin received this scholarship. He spent hours creating parts for our team on Haas machines, and truly earned this award. Congratulations Keith!

Thank you so much for your continued sponsorship Gene Haas Foundation !

Right before BAJA SAE NY, we hosted an alumni event in Rochester NY which Lite Coms generously hosted for us!

Lite Coms has been one of our team’s most generous sponsors, ensuring that we are able to build our car, host OktoBajaFest, and connect with Clarkson alumni.

Thank you Lite Coms for everything you do to help us succeed, we are very grateful for our continued partnership.

“You wanna know the forecast? A hundred percent chance of THUNDER! KA-CHICK-A!!!” -Chick Hicks, 2006

Day 1: Our car waited for engine check. Chick Hicks definitely brought the thunder because the site had to shut down early due to an extreme weather alert.

Day 2: passed engine check, tech, egress, and brake check all in one day. We had a lot of fun running all over the site to accomplish this!

Chick Hicks, our ‘26 season car, was the result of countless hours of designing, machining, and assembly. We could not be more proud of the work we’ve done, and cannot wait to see it compete at Baja SAE Rochester this summer!
