Did you know the University Libraries recently added six Framery One study pods to the 2nd floor south area of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center? Each pod supports student success by empowering pod users to be active learners and critical thinkers. The pods also provide users with access to equitable resources and essential learning environments.

Each pod has the following features:

- Smart and soundproof one-person workstation

- Advanced smart pod features and functionalities

- Speech privacy and echo-free acoustics

- Video-optimized lighting presets

- Adjustable ventilation

These new flexible, semi-private study pods are perfect for students, faculty or staff seeking a space to focus and take a short, quiet study break, attend a Zoom meeting, participate in a video chat or job interview, or take a quick, private phone call.

Want to reserve a pod? Follow this link to the Libraries' room reservation web page: https://library.unr.edu/resources/technology-and-spaces/room-reservations

Funding for the pods was made possible by a grant awared to the University Libraries by The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) which supports libraries in Nevada through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), administered by the Nevada State Library, Archives & Public Records. LSTA funds are intended to help libraries develop their central roles in the community and are used to promote improvements in services to the users of all types of libraries. In addition, LSTA funds are targeted for statewide library services and support of a wide array of library programs.

NEW EXHIBIT, 3RD FLOOR: "A Few of Our Favorite Things: 65 Years of Special Collections and University Archives" is now open on the 3rd floor of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center.

About the exhibit: In the early 1960s, Dean David W. Heron and print history scholar Robert Armstrong began the process of organizing the University’s rare materials, manuscripts, and institutional historical records into a distinct unit within the University Libraries. Special Collections and University Archives continues to flourish, innovate, and support research and education both on and off campus through the efforts of 65 years of knowledgeable, dedicated archivists and librarians. In this exhibit, SCUA staff and University Libraries colleagues share some of their favorite materials from the historical collections.
