Congratulations Diego!

Spring commencement ceremonies may be over, but we're still featuring our ! Today's highlight is J. Diego Zarazúa, who graduated with his Master's degree in World Languages & Literatures from University of Nevada, Reno-College of Liberal Arts!

"J. Diego Zarazúa immigrated from Mexico at a very young age to rural Nevada. Being the first in his immediate family to attend college came with many challenges, from juggling multiple jobs to being a transfer student to the University of Nevada, Reno. He is now graduating with a Master’s of Arts in World Languages & Literatures from the College of Liberal Arts. After completing his Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism from the Reynold’s School of Journalism in 2016.

He is currently the Public Communication’s Specialist of Inclusive Communications for the City of Reno Government, focused on growing inclusive communication efforts with all residents of Reno’s diverse community and a heavy commitment to government bilingual Spanish communications and outreach. Diego helped reopen the Latino Research Center at UNR after it’s hiatus and was the former advisor of the Latino/x Student Advisory Board and Communications Chair for the Nevada Latino Alumni Chapter.

Diego hopes to continue to stay connected to the Wolf Pack Family and assist other upcoming students into higher education. "

The Multicultural Center, Department of Residential Life, Housing, and Food Services (RLHFS), Joe Crowley Student Union (JCSU), and ASUN IDEA cordially invite all campus partners to the 2023 Lunar New Year Celebration. The event will be held on Wednesday, February 1st at 7PM in the JSCU Ballrooms. The event will feature multiple performances rooted in Chinese culture, serve authentic Asian cuisine, and feature multiple Lunar New Year festivities that attendees can engage in. Student, staff, and faculty welcome!
