One community, one Mission 🙏

Today, our UIW community gathered in Our Lady’s Chapel to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit. This annual tradition marks the start of the academic year, as faculty, staff and students come together to pray for guidance, inspiration and God’s presence in all we do this year.

One of our most popular Welcome Week events, Stuff-a-Cardinal (hosted by UIW Campus Engagement) had students building their very own mini-Cardinal plushie, carefully stuffing and dressing their new cuddly companion.

Following Friday evening’s severe weather, UIW teams have worked throughout the weekend to address power outages, cleanup and other impacts across our locations.

The Broadway Campus, Founders Hall and St. Anthony Catholic High School will resume operations as normally scheduled on Monday, Aug. 31.

The Rosenberg School of Optometry, School of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Rehabilitation Sciences and UIW ABSN location will also resume normal operations unless otherwise communicated by campus leadership.

Please note:
• Feik School of Pharmacy classes will take place virtually Monday.
• Campus Dining in the Student Engagement Center will serve a modified menu.
• Some events and activities may be impacted as recovery efforts continue.

Students, faculty and staff should check their email for the latest updates and any additional guidance from their school, department or campus leadership.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our Facilities and Grounds crews and the many UIW teams and staff members who worked throughout the weekend to keep our community safe and restore operations.

On Wednesday, July 29th, we gathered to honor Dorothy Mills, Postal Operations Supervisor, whose dedication, kindness and unwavering commitment have helped shape the University of the Incarnate Word over the past 30 years. In recognition of her, the post office will now be known as "The Dorothy N. Mills UIW Mail Center," to celebrate the welcoming smile she gave from behind the counter, the steady hand that kept our mail operations running smoothly, and the person so many of us could count on every single day.

Founders Hall is officially open! 🎉

Today we celebrated the grand opening of our newest addition to the Broadway campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held in the Col. Charles E. Cheever Legacy Event Center. Thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this milestone, especially the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, for whom this building was named.

We can't wait for our students to step inside, explore and bring this space to life. This is just the beginning of the memories that will be made here! ❤️
