Last week, you had the opportunity to read about USAC's chair. Next up in our officer introductions: Megan Hurley-Knight, 2026-27 USAC Secretary!
As an Academic Adviser at Penn State Hazleton, Megan is passionate about supporting staff and ensuring their voices are heard across the University.
She joined USAC in 2025 after years of staff advocacy experience. Her motivation is simple: staff are the backbone of our campus communities, and workplaces thrive when employees feel supported, valued, and recognized.
In her role as USAC Secretary, she helps keep the council organized and moving forward by maintaining records, coordinating schedules, and supporting the important work of staff advocacy behind the scenes.
📍 Penn State Fun Fact: Her Penn State journey began at Mont Alto in 2010 while completing her master's degree. After an eight-year hiatus, she returned to Penn State in 2020, drawn back by the University's strong sense of community and land-grant mission.
🎵 When she's not working, you'll likely find her at a concert. A devoted Dave Matthews Band fan, she's seen the band live 32 times and counting! For her, live music is the perfect way to travel, make memories, and spend time with her husband.
