Leadership isn’t about pointing the way; it’s about modeling it.

On this week’s Lead Talk, our Coordinator of Scholarship Programs, Claire Nichols, shares what it means to model the way and how our actions set an example for those around us.

How are you modeling the way for those around you?

Leadership is simple, but not always easy!

Last Thursday, we welcomed Carter Stokeld of Williams to Leadership Unfiltered for a conversation about what it means to be someone others want to work with.

Carter reminded us that effective leadership isn’t just about what you accomplish, but also how you treat others along the way. Being approachable, dependable, and easy to work with can make all the difference!

A heartfelt thank you to Williams for their generous support in making this event possible, to Carter for taking the time to share his valuable experiences and perspective, and to everyone who joined us!

BIG DREAMS. MEANINGFUL PURPOSE. LASTING IMPACT.

This week, we’re launching Zimbabwe: Lead with Purpose, an OSU PhilanthroPete campaign supporting students who want to experience leadership beyond the classroom.

Imagine learning from OSU alumna Dr. Tererai Trent, engaging with communities in Zimbabwe, and discovering how education, service, and cultural understanding can shape the way we lead.

This journey is about more than where students go. It’s about who they become, the relationships they build, and the lessons they bring home.

Your generosity can help make this experience possible.

Join us in investing in the next generation of leaders who will learn, serve, and lead with purpose.

COWBOYS DREAM BIG. AND TODAY, WE’RE OPENING DOORS!

Our Send a Cowboy Abroad PhilanthroPete campaign is officially LIVE!

For many OSU students, the opportunity to study abroad comes with financial challenges that can keep life-changing experiences out of reach.

Together, we can change that.

Your gift helps students discover new perspectives, build confidence, and develop the skills to lead in an increasingly connected world.

Every Cowboy deserves the opportunity to dream beyond borders.

Make a gift today and share this post to help us reach more Global Cowboy Champions!

The best part of the last five years? The people we’ve shared them with.

As we celebrate five years of the Hargis Leadership Institute, we’re looking back at some of our favorite moments and the people who have helped shape HLI into what it is today.

We’re grateful for the students, alumni, staff, and supporters who have been part of this journey and who continue to help us grow life-giving community leaders.

Here’s to all the memories we’ve made and everything still ahead. Go Pokes!

Thank you for joining us at our Family Weekend Tailgate!

We had a great time getting to meet everyone and spending part of Family Weekend with our HLI students and their families.

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the night than a big Cowboy win! Go Pokes!

The Hargis Leadership Institute connects with Oklahoma State University’s Land-Grant mission by supporting the growth of leaders across campus.

Through initiatives such as Lead Week, The Leadership Experience, Leadership Unfiltered and Lead 4 Success, we create opportunities for students, faculty and staff to grow as leaders.

We also invest in the next generation of leaders through the President’s Leadership Council, McKnight Scholars and Horizon Scholars.

By working across OSU, HLI helps expand leadership development and further the field of leadership studies as part of our contribution to the university’s Land-Grant mission.
