Last Thursday, October 15th, we held our October Collegiate Farm Bureau meeting! Members learned more about upcoming CFB opportunities, including Discussion Meet and Annual Meeting. We also enjoyed a cookout with burgers, brats, mac and cheese, and more!

For our October service project, members created floral arrangements for residents at ClarkLindsey, a local retirement community. We partnered with two family-run flower farms, Oosterhoff & Son and The Flower Garden, to provide locally grown flowers for our members to arrange. Each arrangement included an informational card highlighting local floral agriculture and the importance of flowers as specialty crops. The back of each card featured information about the two farms and flower farming!

On Friday, October 16th, four of our officers had the opportunity to deliver the arrangements and personally hand them out to residents. We had such a great time meeting the staff and visiting with residents, including a few former U of I professors! Getting to talk with them about college, agriculture, and their experiences made the day even more special.

We are grateful that our arrangements created smiles and conversations with the residents! Thank you to all of our members who helped make this possible!
