Cumberlands’ Human Services program applies a “generalist” approach, which means we believe that social workers should share common knowledge, values, and skills that are generally transferable from one setting, population, geographical area or problem situation to another. We work to ensure that as a Human Services major, you will be prepared to integrate your knowledge, values and skills to promote and enhance the social functioning of individuals, families, and communities. As you pursue either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science in Human Services, you will study with faculty members who are experienced professionals in the field. After you complete your studies, you’ll be able to consider a variety of possibilities for employment or advanced study. A Human Services degree from the University of the Cumberlands will prepare students for a wide range of careers, such as a social service worker, family support worker, probation officer, mental health case worker, intake interviewer, home health case manager, drug abuse counselor, adult daycare case manager, and life skills instructor. Each career centers on helping people in a structured, meaningful way.

KCEOC Community Action Partnership, Inc. is seeking qualified individuals for the position of LIHEAP Intake Worker in Knox County. This position is temporary part-time which will run through the duration of the LIHEAP program.

The LIHEAP Intake Worker is responsible for assisting in the administration of the LIHEAP program including the organization of daily operations, initial client assessment and the processing of applications for a variety of KCEOC programming. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED with some basic office, computer, and phone skills. College courses in sociology, social work or psychology along with three to five years experience in human services is preferred. Experience in working with programs which directly serve the public is also preferred. Applicants should be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Interested applicants may submit their applications Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at KCEOC’s main office located at 5448 North Highway US 25E Gray, KY 40734.
