What happens when choir, composition, and collaboration meet at Jazzcampus?

Joni Mitchell — iconic singer, songwriter, and composer — has inspired generations of musicians across jazz, folk, and beyond.

She has written many remarkable songs that continue to resonate with audiences around the world.

Coached by our professor Pierre Bertrand, students Cosima Schmidt, Isaak Peyer, and Ryuji Uchida, together with Tifanny Butt from the Institut Klassik, have selected some of these inspiring songs and created original arrangements for a large ensemble featuring musicians from both the Jazz and Classical Institutes.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 29 at 19:30, you can hear these beautiful arrangements performed live in a concert at the Jazzcampus Performance Stage, as a tribute to Joni Mitchell. Don’t miss it!

Tonight a very special performance takes place in H9 (Performance Stage) of our campus. Internationally celebrated drummer, vibraphonist, composer and our faculty member Jorge Rossy presents his brand-new Vibes Quartet - a pan-European ensemble bringing together some of today’s most compelling voices in jazz: Milena Casado (trumpet), Robert Landfermann (double bass), and Cornelia Nilsson (drums).
Playing vibraphone and marimba, Rossy leads this first-ever meeting of all four musicians - performing together live for the very first time before heading into the studio to record their debut album.

An opportunity to witness a new ensemble finding itself in real time - don’t miss it!

Tonight at 19:30 at the Jazzcampus Performance Stage (H9)!
