Founded in 2012 as Hong Kong’s first lacquer art gallery, Lacquer Art by SOIL is dedicated to promoting Asian lacquer art. The gallery connects artists across the region to bridge traditional craft and contemporary expression, presenting the rich diversity of lacquer art.

Born in Beijing in 1994, 隗楠 weinan currently lives and works in Kyoto. Her work has been exhibited at Collect art fair and KOGEI Art Fair Kanazawa , and is in the permanent collection of Victoria and Albert Museum in London. A finalist for the 2026 LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, this marks Wei Nan’s first time returning home to exhibit her award-winning series. 🎀The 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒕 series uses leather to form sculptural, dimensional folds, which are then gradually fixed in their supple curves and postures through layer upon layer of lacquer application. The deep red, lustrous lacquered surface reflects light and shadow, highlighting the undulating contours of the form and the tension held within its folds.

Founded in 1998 by renowned ancient art connoisseur and collector Mr Feng Langquan, Da Guan Tang Antiques has dedicated over three decades to the collection, research, and dissemination of Chinese classical art. Over the years, the gallery has built a diverse collection system encompassing Ming and Qing furniture, Japanese bonsai, traditional scholar’s rocks, ancient books and documents, and high-archaic art.

With a slender silhouette and a serene, compassionate expression, the Maitreya Bodhisattva stands in an elegant triple-bent posture, his right hand raised in varadamudra (the boon-granting gesture). The Licchavi period marks the “Golden Age” of Nepalese art. As wooden artifacts rarely survive and most extant Licchavi carvings depict Avalokiteshvara — this remarkably well-preserved sculpture is the only known wooden Maitreya from the period, making it a masterpiece of extraordinary rarity.

Lau & Fung Asian Art Gallery specialises in Chinese classical furniture, with a focus on hardwood furniture made of huanghuali and zitan, as well as bamboo and wood carvings, lacquerware, and scholar’s objects, backed by over 40 years of expertise in connoisseurship.

Dating to the late Ming Dynasty, this raised-head table showcases a classic jiatousun (recessed-leg) structure and fluted legs, ingeniously pairing jichimu with yew wood🪵. The feather-like grain of the jichimu softly complements the yew wood core. Simple, balanced, and unadorned, its beauty lies purely in material contrast, form, and joinery—embodying the late Ming scholar aesthetic: Simple yet substantial, understated yet elegant 🪽.

Lau & Fung Asian Art Gallery

Founded in Guangzhou in 2016, JIABAO Pavilion is dedicated to the heritage of the intangible cultural heritage craft of “filigree inlay”. Following its acclaimed debut at Fine Art Asia in 2023, the gallery returns to bringing a selection of exquisite masterpieces to collectors and art lovers alike.

Crafted with delicate openwork filigree with 18K gold, the brooch captures a butterfly in mid-flight 🦋, its intricate wing veins swirling like antique Victorian lace. 💎Sparkling diamonds are meticulously paved along the wing edges and body, evoking the refined elegance of historical jewelry workshops. With its warm, vintage-inspired glow, this piece brings a touch of quiet luxury and timeless romance to the lapel.

With over 30 years of expertise in Chinese imperial lacquer furniture and scholar’s objects, Luohan Tang presents a cross-era dialogue between ancient lacquer masterworks and contemporary crafts at .

The exhibition’s centrepiece is a magnificent three-metre-long orange qiangjin and tianqi lacquer altar table, dating to the early Kangxi period.

Its bold scale sets the stage for a vivid lakeside scene of 🪷 lotuses, flowering plants, rocks, and birds set against a wanzi-patterned ground. Distinctive side panels feature cutout confronting phoenixes 🐦‍🔥— a motif echoed on the everted ends, complemented by 🐉 dragon cartouches and floral scrolls along the frame and legs. Delicate qiangjin gold engraving captures the light, casting an aura of imperial opulence.

Founded in 2001, Grotto Fine Art is dedicated to nurturing and promoting emerging Hong Kong artists, and remains the only gallery devoted exclusively to contemporary Hong Kong art.

At , the gallery presents new works from the “Cave” series by Hong Kong ink artist Shum Kwan Yi (sim). In Cave no. 23: Ashes of Silence, the viewer gazes outward from inside a painted grotto onto a vast, boundless sea🌊. Smoke of oxidised metal foil hangs from the sky as if foreboding a burning shipwreck at sea, yet the ship itself remains unseen — an echo of the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang🏜️, whose river was long diverted to save the cliffside temples. Pines struggle for space within the narrow frame yet leave room for one another, their dense, symbolic rendering inspired by Dunhuang murals, holding the resilient character sealed deep within us all.

Based in Hong Kong, Ever Arts Gallery is celebrated for classical Chinese furniture and scholar’s objects, with longstanding expertise in the appreciation and restoration of Ming and Qing huanghuali furniture, alongside fine bamboo and wood carvings.

As part of ,the gallery is pleased to be featured in ”Antiques Reimagined“, a special exhibition co-curated by five galleries to spark an engaging dialogue between past and present. On display is a notable early-Qing bamboo brushpot featuring the ”Hehe Erxian“, masterfully carved by Shao Wenyou.

Carved from a natural bamboo stem🎋, its exterior relief-decorated with auspicious clouds☁️, beneath which the twin immortals Hanshan and Shide ride a boat floating across rolling waves — one holding a palm fan, the other a broom, their expressions carefree and serene. The finely wrought carving conveys the elegant charm of early-Qing bamboo carving, where craftsmanship and literati taste meet.

Renowned for classical Chinese furniture and scholar’s objects, London gallery MD Flacks makes a much-anticipated return to after a several-year hiatus, turning its lens toward contemporary craft with this playful reinterpretation of Chinese antiques.

The special exhibition “Antiques Reimagined” brings five leading galleries into a new dialogue with antiques, anchored by the participation of MD Flacks. Among the highlights is The Monkey’s Cabinet of Curiosities (2026), an exquisite porcelain brushpot by British artist Edward Luper (Edward Luper), rendered in underglaze blue, vibrant overglaze enamels, and delicate gilt details 🔹.

A former Chinese art specialist at Bonhams, Luper fills the brushpot with all the things he loves: the playful monkey🐒 is inspired by a Qing dynasty textile depicting monkeys stealing peaches, while the densely packed shelves of books, vases, and curios draw from Korean scholar’s screens (Chaekgeori). There is no single vantage point—turn the piece, and a delightful new detail is revealed at every angle.

Rossi & Rossi , renowned for its expertise in Himalayan art, presents treasures spanning centuries of Buddhist heritage.

At , the gallery will showcase Buddhist sculptures and thangkas, starting with a rare stucco head of Buddha from ancient Gandhara, Pakistan.

Carved between the 4th and 5th centuries, the head bears a rounded ushnisha and fine snail-shell curls, with half-closed eyes and a serene, otherworldly composure. The weathered stucco surface lends it a warm, ancient tactility — a fragment that still captures the essence of Gandharan art, where East and West meet in perfect harmony.

Rossi & Rossi
