If you experience procrastination, difficulty initiating a task or sustaining attention when engaging in study/assignments, this may be the group for you!!

A ‘body double’, is a term created by ADHD coach, Linda Anderson in 1996. It taps into the multiple scientific theories that describe why having someone working alongside you can lead to greater levels of productivity and focus in terms of task initiation and completion.

Body doubling is used informally where you may notice that you work better in a library or café. In more structured ways, many people use body doubling using platforms such as Flowstate, Caveday, Focusmate.

Sessions will run on Mondays from 10:00 to 12:00 and Fridays from 14:00 - 16:00 

All sessions will be in person and take place in the North Training Room in the basement of the Boland Library.

The weekly ADHD Peer Support Group will resume on Thursdays from 22nd January at 4pm.
The group's focus is to provide students with ADHD (whether they have a formal diagnosis or
not) with a space to meet each other and share their experiences, in a welcoming setting.

The group will be co-facilitated by an occupational therapist (Amy) and a student with ADHD (Genevieve).

📆 Date: Thursdays during term time (there will be no meeting during Reading Week)
⏰️Time: 4pm-5pm
📍Location: An Mheiteal, Printing House Square, Trinity College Dublin.

The Q***r Disabled Peer Support Group is open to any student who is identifies as both q***r and disabled and/or chronically ill.

You do not need to have a formal diagnosis or be registered with disability to attend, nor will you be asked to disclose your q***r or disabled identities if you do not wish to do so.

The aim of this group is to help support students with these intersectional identities that may have difficulty finding safe and welcoming spaces with those with similar experiences.

The group will be co-facilitated by a q***r disabled student and a disability staff member.

We would ask that anyone who wishes to attend any session over this semester express interest by filling out the form at the link in our bio and stories.

We will then keep the group closed during the remainder of the semester to ensure the safety and confidentiality of participants as we recognise not everyone wishes to be open about their identities and/or diagnoses within their wider college life.

The group will meet on alternating Thursdays during lunchtime.

We will reach out to those who have expressed interest with meeting details closer to the date of the first meeting in Semester 2.

Celebrating disAbled Voices: Reading and Reflection

As part of Trinity’s Disability Awareness Week, join us for a special event highlighting the richness and diversity of disabled authors through the disAbility Pride and Awareness Reading List.

Four students will each select a book, poem, or short piece by a disabled writer and read a brief ten-minute excerpt that resonates with them. Following each reading, students will reflect on why they chose their piece, how it connects to their lived experience or perspective, then the conversation will be opened up to attendees.

Trinity disAbility Week 2025 takes place 1-5 December!

disAbility Week marks International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Wednesday 3rd December. This year’s UN theme is “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress.”

Key highlights from the week include:

• Cairdeas Community Choir’s Christmas Showcase in Regent House
• Student led events focusing on accessibility, advocacy and universal design
• Employability panel featuring well-known advocates and speakers
• A special lighting of the front campus buildings on Wednesday evening to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

If you experience procrastination, difficulty initiating a task or sustaining attention when engaging in study/assignments, this may be the group for you.

Join Cairdeas Community Choir for our annual Christmas showcase as part of disAbility Week 2025!

Date: Monday 1st December

At Cairdeas, we believe that singing is for everyone – no audition required, and no prior experience needed. Whether you're a seasoned vocalist or a complete beginner, we offer a supportive and welcoming space to enjoy the power of music.

Established in 2024 with funding from the College’s Equality Diversity and Inclusivity Office and then the College Alumni Fund, the choir offers a fun and friendly environment, where we explore a wide repertoire of songs across different genres and styles. Singing together is not only a joyous experience but also has remarkable benefits for your mental health and wellbeing. As the saying goes, “When you sing, you begin to heal.” Singing has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and foster a sense of belonging and connection.

In the words of choir director and mental health advocate, Sirens, “Singing lifts the soul, and when we come together to make music, we share in something that makes us feel truly alive.” We look forward to sharing our love of singing and laughter with you in this wonderful community!

As part of disAbility Awareness Week 2025, Trinity Development & Alumni and the disAbility Service Employability Team, cordially invite you to an Employability Panel discussion and networking lunch.

We are pleased to welcome playwright Rosaleen McDonagh, speaker and advocate Jack Kavanagh and other speakers who will be sharing their experiences on the panel and answering questions.
