"Networking is key. Contact other coaches with experience and ask questions. Start coaching right away, as there are many skills you won't be able to get good at unless you gain in-person experience.

Continue to study and don't allow ego to be the enemy. The field of research in S&C is ever-changing, so remain keen to learn and challenge your own thought processes."

Eamonn Cox discusses his coaching journey and his experience of studying the BSc in Strength & Conditioning with Setanta.

"Setanta's flexible, applied model meant I could study properly while still running these practices full-time, which was essential. I needed a programme that fit around my work rather than the other way around. Most importantly, balancing that with my family made flexibility non-negotiable, and Setanta's model let me study properly without taking time away from my daughter."

"Stay open to new knowledge and keep integrating it, because professional development depends on being willing to keep learning and applying what we learn. But just as important is paying attention to your own personal experiences, because they hold information that can be transformed into meaningful work too.
