For today's Military Appreciation Day game, 8 year old Cooper Platt will be leading the pledge of allegiance from the field. Cooper's dad, MM1 Tyler Platt of the United States Navy, has been deployed on the USS George H W Bush Supercarrier since March of this year and is currently at an unknown location.
The Platt family, originally from the upstate, are huge Clemson fans, and this is Connor's first Clemson game ever. Cooper was diagnosed with substantial hearing loss as a young boy, but he's been practicing and is ready to lead today's pledge in honor of his father. Cooper will be joined today by his mother.

We had the honor of meeting Clemson President Benjamin Ayers and Clemson Chief of Staff Alton Standifer on September 9th, 2026, and giving them a tour of Clemson's beloved military heritage! We were joined by our friends and partners in Clemson University Army ROTC Fightin' Tigers Detachment 770 Flying Tigers Clemson University Military & Veteran Engagement

On this tour, we introduced the significance of the Scroll of Honor; of how it pays respect and remembrance to the 498 Clemson Alumni who died in military service to our Nation.

We also had the pleasure of having President Ayers give opening remarks at our Clemson Corps general meeting on September 18th.

We extend sincere gratitude to President Ayers and his staff for making this possible, and we look forward to celebrating Clemson's rich military history this upcoming Military Appreciation Football game on Saturday, October 17th!
