Mizzou Parks, Recreation, Sport and Tourism is seeking a dedicated and innovative educator to join our team as an Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor in Sport Management. This 9-month, ranked non-tenure track faculty position offers the opportunity to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students while helping shape the future of sport management education.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about student success, experiential learning, and strengthening the connections between sport management, parks, recreation, and tourism. Responsibilities include teaching courses in areas such as sport governance, coaching, legal aspects of sport, contemporary issues in sport, and other sport management topics, as well as advising students and contributing to program development and service activities within the School of Natural Resources.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of former PRST faculty member Geoffrey "Geoff" Lanham, who served the program from November 19, 1990, to November 1, 2008. During his years of service, Geoff made a meaningful impact on our students, colleagues, and campus community.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends as they navigate this difficult loss. We are grateful for Geoff's years of dedication and service, and we honor his memory and the legacy he leaves behind.

Capstone Internship Spotlight: Logan Nault

Logan Nault is gaining valuable experience with the Indianapolis Colts as a Football Operations Intern. Throughout his internship, Logan has gotten an inside look at the day-to-day operations of an NFL organization, from morning practices and afternoon walkthroughs to the many details that go into keeping a team running smoothly. As he wraps up his internship, Logan is excited to take what he’s learned and carry it into the next step of his professional career in sports!🎓🔦🏈

Capstone Internship Spotlight: Drew Rogers

Drew Rogers spent his summer interning for Kankakee Valley Park District. He worked with the awesome kids at Kids Camp organizing activities and supervising all aspects of the summer camp. Drew has been able to take ownership supervising both the camp counselors and the children at Kids Camp this summer. The kids have been having a great summer, and Drew has been learning a great deal about the administrative side of running and organizing a summer camp for kids. Drew also worked at events at other sites within the Park District such as Splash Valley community events, Ice Valley kids activities, and River Road Softball complex. He looks forward to helping carry out a large scale community event, The Kankakee River Regatta at the end of the summer.🎓🔦🌳

Capstone Internship Spotlight: Drew Kernell

Drew Kernell spent his capstone internship working with Daktronics as a Regional Sales Intern. Drew is based in the Madison, Wisconsin area; however he has been able to travel so far around the country. Being able to travel to more local states around Wisconsin such as Indiana, Michigan and Iowa has been a highlight. He was also able to be apart of the Texas High School Coaches Association Show (THSCA) that was in Houston, Texas. Drew has been apart of many different roles in the company, getting as much experience as he can. 🎓🔦💻

Capstone Internship Spotlight: Tristan Wilson-Godinez

During his internship with Rock Bridge High School Football, Tristan Wilson Godinez gained valuable experience both personally and professionally. He strengthened his communication skills, grew his confidence as a coach and gained a new appreciation for the work that goes into running a football program. From planning practices and teaching techniques to building relationships with the coaching staff, Tristan made the most of his time with Rock Bridge Football. 🎓🔦🏈

Capstone Internship Spotlight: Hayden Wells

Hayden Wells spent his summer completing his capstone internship with Samford University Athletics Football, working closely with the coaching staff and assisting with the safeties. From working on the field during practice and helping the defensive staff break down film to coaching and recruiting future prospects at prospect camps, Hayden has gained valuable hands-on experience throughout his time with the program. With Pete Hanna Stadium and Sullivan-Cooney Field House serving as the backdrop to his summer, Hayden has embraced the opportunity to be part of the Bulldogs’ program. He’s enjoyed his time at Samford and hopes to stick around for the season as the Bulldogs pursue another SoCon title. As the sign behind him says, Hayden is all in for Samford.🎓🔦🏈

Cora Watkins is spending her summer with Kustom Entertainment as an Events intern for the 30th anniversary of the Country Stampede Festival in Kansas City. Cora has gained experience in marketing, social media content, and event operations. She has gotten to see the behind the scenes work that it takes to produce a large-scale event. Cora is excited about finishing her last semester to then pursue a career in operations and events! 🎓🔦🏟
