Congratulations to Drs. Avery and Towne on their publication, “More Similar than Different? Perceptions of Procedural Justice in Rural and Urban Context in Missouri After Ferguson” in the International Journal of Rural Criminology. This research examines perceptions of procedural justice among urban and rural Missourians in the long-term aftermath of Michael Brown's death in Ferguson, MO. While levels of procedural justice were slightly lower among rural residents, the effects of predictors (local poverty, demographics, media exposure, and personal experience with crime and law enforcement) were consistent across contexts.
